February 28, 2026
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Texas Discovery Gardens
Fair Park, Dallas, Texas

Our Early Bird Starter Spring Plant Sale is for gardeners who can’t wait any longer to get their hands in the dirt. Late February is the ideal time in North Texas to begin planting, and this sale is designed to help you start the season right. Rather than fully finished plants, this event focuses on starter plants. These plants are meant to be planted now, establish strong roots, and take off as spring unfolds.

Shoppers can expect a thoughtfully curated mix of hardy perennials, early spring color annuals, bulbs, and herbs, selected specifically for success in early planting conditions. These plants may be smaller than what you’ll see later in the season, but they’re chosen for long term performance and garden success rather than instant gratification.

This sale is a primer for our larger Spring Showcase Plant Sale in April, when we’ll offer a broader selection and full spring color.

The plants are arranged in groups according to their characteristics. We have a map at the sale to help you navigate.

When you find plants, please place them in a black plastic crate under a number. When you have filled your crates to overflowing, please find a person with a clipboard to write a sales ticket. Take the ticket to the cashier to pay. Remember to bring the paid tag to collect your plants.

We do our very best to make sure plants on the list are available, but sometimes they do not look good enough for the sale and we remove them. Also, we may sell out of some plants during the sale.

Please bring your own trunk liners or cardboard if you are concerned about soil in your vehicle.

If you are purchasing for a non-profit, please bring a paper copy of the tax exempt form.
