Discover the fascinating journey that Monarchs undertake each year. Explorers will learn about the butterfly life cycle, their migration pattern, monarch tagging, the critical role they play in our ecosystem and how we can help! Suitable for all ages, this program aims to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation for these amazing pollinators and the steps we can take to protect them.

Become a nature detective and discover the roles that insects play in the ecosystem! In this class, explorers will dive into the relationships between insects and plants, pollination and more. The adventure continues outdoors with an insect hunt in the garden to observe insects in action. This fun-filled class encourages kids to explore and learn about the world around them!

During this experience, participants will explore the beauty of nature through guided walks, observation, and hands-on activities that highlight the intricate details of plants and animals.Using natural materials like leaves, flowers, and twigs, students will create their own nature-inspired artwork, blending science and creativity. This program is perfect for cultivating mindfulness, encouraging a sense of wonder, and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for the environment—all while nurturing students' artistic talents.

Pre-K – 1st Grade: 30–45 minutes
2nd Grade & Up: 50 minutes

Discover the enchanting world of butterflies! In this hands-on program, students examine real specimens from our Explorer Bins and learn the differences between butterflies and moths. Younger learners act out each stage of the life cycle and make a butterfly craft to take home, while older students refine their observation skills by studying butterfly wings and practicing how to distinguish butterflies from moths. Both age groups conclude their adventure with a visit to our tropical Butterfly House, where they can observe eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises, and hundreds of butterflies flying freely.

Explorers discover the magic of plants through hands-on nature learning! Their mission: find and observe different seeds, fruits, and flowers while walking through the gardens. Students also enjoy a special behind-the-scenes view of our greenhouse before wrapping up the adventure by planting their own seed to take home!

🌧️ In case of rain, the garden walk and greenhouse visit will be replaced with a hands-on seed sorting activity indoors.
