Butterfly Release Request

A Live Butterfly Release Is a Perfect Way To Celebrate a Special Occasion or Loved One.

You and a loved one will get to release your own butterflies into our two-story tropical Butterfly House!

A release costs $75 and includes the admission of two guests, two butterflies for release, two certificates and a brief discussion about the species being released with our resident entomologist. The releases tend to take about 30 minutes and are held in our tropical butterfly house.

Butterflies are only released in pairs here at TDG. Every additional pair of butterflies will require another $75 release fee.

Guests who will just be watching the release will pay general admission at the front desk when they arrive. ($12 for adults, $6 for kids)

When you pay for a release, you will have access to the gardens, butterfly house, snake and reptile shack, outdoor playscape, garden trains, and the entire 7.5 acres for the entire day! Learn more about Butterfly Houses with Texas Discovery Gardens!


*Due to the nature of obtaining butterflies for release, your reservation must be scheduled at least one week in advance. If something comes up within the week's notice, please contact us and we will try to work something out if possible.
