Jazz in the Gardens
Since 1936 Texas Discovery Gardens has been a fixture at Fair Park for all to enjoy. With over 7.5 acres nestled within Fair Park, many consider Texas Discovery Gardens a hidden gem of Dallas. Featuring not only our world-famous Sammons butterfly house, but lush gardens planted with native Texas plantings, ponds and fountains, our huge lobby axolotl tank, the Grand Allee with a fantastic fountain, and more. The Grand Hall has a spectacular view of the circular lawn with a waterfall and the historic Portland Cement House from the 1936 World’s Fair in the background. Take a stroll before finding your seats for the fantastic jazz event. Martha and her band will be ready to kick off a fantastic evening of jazz at 7:00 PM.
June 7 - Saturday evening.
Pre-event Warm-up: 6:00-7:00 PM - Warm up by touring the Texas Discovery Gardens' world famous Sammons two-story Butterfly House, featuring a walk through lush tropical plants with free-flying butterflies from all over the world. You can also stroll the garden grounds before catching your seats.
Show: 7:00-9:00 PM in the Grand Hall. Jazz in the Gardens will be featuring Martha Burks and her band.
Open seating is a combination of Bistro chairs and tables and tables of 10. All seating is open and first come, first seated.
Bar service will be a selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, along with light snacks.
All proceeds will benefit Texas Discovery Gardens, a 501c3 non-profit supported in part by the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department.
Directions and parking: Enter Fair Park Gate 6 and then turn right onto Second Ave and then another immediate right into the TDG parking lot. Cross the street and follow the string lights to the main entrance. Parking is free. The MLK DART station is also just 1 block away from Gate 6.
